An Ultra2 SCSI bus expander that regenerates, reshapes, and transmits signals between SCSI bus segments while providing electrical isolation between them. It supports single-ended (SE), low-voltage differential (LVD), and high-voltage differential (HVD) bus modes in any combination on either port, operating as a bus repeater or converter. The device self-calibrates to adjust for voltage, temperature, and silicon process variations and accepts asynchronous or synchronous transfers up to Ultra2 SCSI in LVD-to-LVD mode. It operates from a 3.3 V supply and a 40 MHz input clock over a 0 to 70 C free-air temperature range, packaged in a 192-ball PBGA.
