The Anybus Communicator AB7317-B is a protocol converter that connects CAN-based industrial devices to PROFINET-IO control systems. It enables high-speed data transfer between a CAN subnetwork and a PROFINET network without requiring hardware or software changes to the connected device. The gateway supports CAN 2.0A and 2.0B protocols and performs intelligent protocol conversion, presenting CAN data to the PLC as easily processed I/O data. It features a slim housing for DIN-rail mounting and includes 512 bytes of input and output data capacity.
