Fixed in-line flat wavelength optical attenuator inserts between a connector and adapter in an FC/PC ultra PC configuration. The attenuator provides 6 dB nominal insertion loss and operates over the 1260 to 1360 nm and 1430 to 1580 nm wavelength bands. It uses a zirconia ferrule with selected attenuating fiber to provide flat spectral response. The device is rated for operation from -25 °C to +70 °C and is tested to Telcordia GR-910 issue 2. Ultra PC reflectance is specified at no more than -55 dB.
