The LP3958 is a highly integrated Lighting Management Unit designed for portable applications such as cellular phones and PDAs. It features a high-efficiency boost converter with programmable output voltage up to 18V and a 1.15A switch current limit. The device includes two high-resolution current mode drivers for serial display backlight LEDs and three drivers for serial keypad LEDs which can operate in switch or current mode. Control is managed via a 2-wire I2C compatible interface.
