The LP8555 is a high-efficiency LED driver featuring integrated dual DC-DC boost converters and 12 high-precision current sinks. It supports a 2.7V to 20V VDD range and is designed for tablet PCs to drive large numbers of LEDs with optimal efficiency. The device features adaptive LED current sink headroom control, phase-shifted PWM mode to reduce audible noise, and hybrid PWM/current dimming for improved optical efficiency. It includes extensive fault detection schemes such as OVP, thermal shutdown, and LED string auto-detection.
