Fixed-frequency current-mode pulse width modulator optimized for off-line and DC/DC converter applications. It supports switching frequencies up to 500 kHz and drives power MOSFETs through a 1 A totem-pole output stage. Start-up current is less than 250 µA, and a trimmed bandgap reference provides a 5 V reference output. Undervoltage lockout with hysteresis, 50 ns current-sense delay with leading-edge blanking, and an 18 V high-level output clamp are incorporated. The military-grade version operates over a -55°C to 125°C junction temperature range and is housed in an 8-lead CERDIP package.
