Integrated temperature sensor and brushless DC fan-speed controller provides proportional PWM fan control with FanSense fault detection. The device operates from a 2.8 V to 5.5 V supply and draws 50 µA typical operating current. It provides a single over-temperature alert output and translates on-chip temperature into fan speed from 40% to 100%. The CF temperature option sets the low and high fan-control thresholds at 35°C and 50°C, respectively. The device is specified for -40°C to +125°C operation in an 8-pin MSOP package.
