Carbon tape delivers flame resistance and thermal insulation for piping and equipment protection. Its plain-weave construction stays flexible, allowing easy installation around thin piping and in narrow spaces. The tape causes no skin irritation, unlike fiberglass, and resists organic solvents, weak alkalis, and weak acids. Instantaneous heat resistance reaches about 1300°C with a continuous operating temperature range of about 200°C. It measures 1.2 mm thick, 100 mm wide, and 30 m long, and contains no asbestos or refractory ceramic fiber.
