The TPS65560 offers a complete solution for charging a photo flash capacitor from a low-voltage input, and subsequently discharging the capacitor into a xenon flash tube using an integrated IGBT driver. The device includes a flyback controller and a 50-V internal power switch to minimize external component count. It features programmable peak current, as well as protections such as thermal shutdown, overcurrent monitoring (VDS at the SW pin), and maximum on/off time limits.
