The TPS92642-Q1 is a monolithic, synchronous Buck LED driver designed for high-current IR LED applications such as Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS). It features a wide input voltage range of 5.5 V to 36 V (supporting 40-V load dumps) and implements an adaptive on-time average current mode control based on inductor valley current detection. The device supports up to 5-A pulsed output current with 4% accuracy and includes an internal pulse monitoring circuit to limit maximum pulse duty cycle. It provides both 1000:1 precision PWM dimming and 15:1 analog dimming capabilities.
