Adjustable ultra-low-dropout linear regulator supplies up to 1.5 A output current with enable control and an error flag output. The regulator uses a PNP pass element and provides typical dropout voltage of 350 mV at 1.5 A, with a 600 mV maximum at that load. Protection functions include current limiting, thermal shutdown, reverse input polarity, reverse lead insertion, and transient voltage spike tolerance. The TO-220-5L package version is supplied in tube packing and operates over a -40 °C to 125 °C junction-temperature range.
