Leaded metal oxide varistor is designed for lightning and surge protection in power distribution, communication power, antenna, lighting, rail traffic, renewable-energy, and industrial equipment. The device has a 780 V varistor voltage at 1 mA with ±10% tolerance, 485 VAC RMS and 640 VDC maximum continuous voltage ratings, and 1875 V maximum clamping voltage at the rated impulse current. It supports 20 kA nominal and 40 kA maximum 8/20 µs surge-current duty with 1210 J maximum 2 ms energy rating. The TVA series operates from -40°C to +85°C and uses epoxy encapsulation in a leaded GKGE structure.
