Metal oxide varistor provides overvoltage and transient voltage protection using a low-beta zinc oxide ceramic disc. The 20 V RMS, 26 V DC VDRS10D020 electrical rating has a 33 V varistor voltage at 1 mA and clamps to 65 V at 5 A. It is rated for 6.5 J energy, 500 A non-repetitive 8/20 µs surge current, and 0.25 kA nominal discharge current. The device uses matte-tin-plated leads and an ocher halogen-free epoxy coating rated UL 94 V-0. Operation is specified from -40 °C to +85 °C with storage from -40 °C to +125 °C.
