Metal oxide varistor provides overvoltage and transient-voltage protection in a through-hole disc construction. The VDRS14T250 base rating supports 250 V RMS and 320 V DC continuous operation with a 390 V varistor voltage at 1 mA. It clamps to 650 V at 50 A and is rated for 96 J energy pulses and 4500 A non-repetitive 8/20 µs surge current. The coated zinc-oxide disc uses halogen-free UL 94 V-0 epoxy and operates from -40 °C to +85 °C.
